This listing is for a 100 tine chasen tea whisk. The chasen is tulip shaped and split from one piece of bamboo into 100 small prongs. Most chasen tend to have 80 tines or less. The 100 tine type are considered to be better quality because more prongs result in more foam and a better frothy texture. This type is often used by tea ceremony schools in Japan.
