This listing is for a 2.5 litre mizutsugi, which is a water pot used for refilling the mizusashi and kama during the tea ceremony. This particular style of mizutsugi is known as the Koshiguro Yakan style, and it is made of copper alloyed with nickel, and the inside is coated with tin. During the tea ceremony the mizutsugi is always handled with two hands and the lid is turned upside down on the floor. The lid of the Kama is placed on the mizutsugi lid. When carrying it away the lid is placed upside down on the mizutsugi, and the chakin is placed on top of it.  It comes with its original cardboard storage box.

Condition

It’s in very good condition aside from some scratches (mainly on the bottom) and scuffing along the sides, and there is no lid on the end of the spout.  Please check the wear in the photo showing the underside of the lid, the interior is in pretty good condition.
