This listing is for a 24KGP gold plated sake cup. This type of cup is called a sakazuki, which means a flat traditional style of sake cup. Sakazuki are mainly reserved for ceremonial use at weddings or other special occasions such as the tea ceremony. The cup in this listing features a crane and a tortoise, and the kanji ‘Kotobuki‘ which means long life. Cranes and tortoises are believed to live to 1000 years, thus making them auspicious symbols representing longevity. The bottom is marked with 24KGP, and it comes with its original paper box. Condition
It’s in very good condition aside from some tarnish on the bottom of the cup. The paper box has some very mild wear as well.
