This listing is for a splendid ikebana basket made around 30-40 years ago.  It is made of thin strips of woven bamboo that have been lacquered brown, and there’s a braided handle attached to the top.  The basket is not symmetrical, it has more of an irregular shape which in my opinion makes its attractive.  The insert on the interior is made of lacquered bamboo and it’s reasonably easy to take in and out.

Insert:  L.22.1cm (8.7”) x Dia.9.5cm (3.7”)

Condition

It’s in very good condition aside from some loose strips on the interior, it’s possible that it’s supposed to be like that though.  There’s almost no wear on the insert and it’s in very good condition.
