This listing is for a Showa period bunchin paperweight and brush tray dated Showa 55/56 (1980/81).  The back of the brush tray has the kanji for Toyo University, and the paperweight features the university emblem.  The school emblem was established by Toyo’s predecessor (the Private Institute of Philosophy) in 1893, and symbolises the "virtue of knowledge".  This set comes with its original paper storage box.
