This listing is for a beautiful pair of Kiyomizu-ware yunomi made around 5 years ago by Dobuchi Touan III.  They are wheel-thrown and the front of each cup is decorated with a seasonal motifs.   One cup features cherry blossoms, and the other autumn leaves.  The stamp of the potter can be found on the bottom of each cup, and they come with their original paper storage box.  They also come with two Japanese language information papers.

Dobuchi Touan III (b. Yoshiaki 1949) is the third generation master of Touan Gama located in the Higashiyama district of Kyoto. The kiln was established in 1922 and employs several skilled craftsmen who specialize in the production of high quality hand-painted tableware and tea vessels. Dobuchi became the third generation master in 1979, and is best known for his exquisite flower designs, his soft red peony motif being his most popular and most expensive to buy.   **Fellow sellers, this information was researched by Kominka Zakka and CANNOT be used in your own listings.

Kiyomizu-ware refers to a type or variation of Kyo-ware. Nonomura Ninsei is regarded as one of the key figures responsible for the development of the beautiful Kiyomizu-ware style that we know today. He produced tea utensils and mastered the secret technique for hand-painting overglaze enamels to look like brocade. This technique is very highly regarded and ranks up there with the finest Kutani-ware and Imari.
