This listing is for a Japanese bamboo vase made around 30-40 years ago.  It is hand-crafted from a single piece of bamboo and coated in clear lacquer, thus preserving the texture and natural grain of the bamboo while adding a subtle sheen.  The interior features red lacquer which provides a bold contrast to the natural colour of the exterior.  Moreover the natural curve of the bamboo gives the vase a graceful presence, it would work beautifully in a tea room or as an ikebana vase.
