Jubako Carry Box
*SHIPPING OPTIONS VARY DEPENDING ON THE DESTINATION, PLEASE SCROLL TO THE END OF THIS LISTING FOR MORE DETAILS.
This listing is for a carry box made around 60-70 years ago. It is made of wood and coated in lacquer, and there’s a wooden handle on top. These types of boxes are for carrying and storing jubako, this particular piece is nice and sturdy. The panel in front slides up and down and still operates as it should. The box is in very usable condition, but it would also make a great display item. The kanji on the front reads as ‘te’ which means handle, possibly referring to the handle on top, and the kanji on the back reads as ‘Sato-san’ which is a family name.
Size
H.34.3cm (13.5”) x 23cm (9”) across x 19.1cm (7.5”) deep
Condition
Overall it’s in good condition aside from some general surface wear, some wear along the edges, shallow nicks/dents, scuffing, and some cloudy lacquer. It was wiped with something and you can see the wipes marks so it needs some wax, also the interior is slightly spotty. The lid slides in and out as it should.
