This listing is for a splendid Kiyomizu-ware chawan made around 5-10 years ago by Kitagawa Yasaburo. It is wheel-thrown and the front is decorated with young bamboo shoots in early spring. This piece also features what is known as gohonte markings. Gohonte refers to pale spots that appear on pottery when clay containing iron is fired at high temperatures. This is a beautiful bowl for spring use, the colours of the glaze add warmth and charm to the piece. The stamp of the potter can be found on the bottom, very sorry but no box for this one. *PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BAMBOO CHASHAKU IS NOT INCLUDED.
