This listing is for a LARGE AND HEAVY lacquered kadai made around 60-70 years ago. Kadai are generally used to display bonsai, okimono, or ikebana flower arrangements.  This kadai in this listing is crafted from a tree root and coated in glossy lacquer.  The wood grain is clearly visible through the lacquer, and this piece has some wonderful knots in the wood.  Please note that the ornaments are not included in this listing.

Condition

It’s in pretty good condition aside from scratches and scuffing on the top and bottom, and there’s a nick near the top on the back.
