This listing is for Mikawachi-ware earthenware rabbit okimono made around 20-30 years ago by Kakehashi Kumashi.  The rabbit features a blue jacket with a red and white line pattern, and it has a red string around its neck.  Usually earthenware okimono are small, this piece is quite large in comparison. The rabbit comes with its original paper box, a black display board, and Japanese information about the potter and Mikawachi-ware.  

Mikawachi-ware is another name for Hirado-ware, and it refers to pottery produced in Nagasaki Prefecture. The body of Mikawachi ware is of fine-grained, extremely white porcelain that is usually decorated with miniature-style paintings of landscapes, trees and flowers.

Condition

It’s in very good condition with no chips or cracks although there is some minor surface wear here and there.
