This listing is for a maneki-neko from Gotokuji temple in Tokyo. A maneki-neko is a beckoning cat and it is believed to bring good luck to its owner, so they are a very common sight in stores and restaurants. The cat in this listing has been made using a press mould and has a gold bell on the collar around its neck. Gotokuji cats also have eyebrows which makes them different from other maneki-neko. Gotokuji is a Buddhist temple and said to be the birthplace of maneki-neko. They sell cats with both the left and right paw raised, however Gotokuji specialises in the right pawed version like the cat in this listing. It comes with a paper storage box.
