This listing is for a set of five hashioki chopstick rests made around 20-30 years ago.  They are made of cast metal and moulded to resemble crouching rabbits.  Rabbits are a popular decoration for tableware this time of year because of the full moon season.  Autumn is the best time to catch a glimpse of the rabbit that’s believed to inhabit the moon.  On a clear night it’s possible to see the rabbit swinging a mallet and pounding mochi on the moon.  This set comes with their original paper storage box.

Condition

The entire set is in very good condition, however please note that the box is a little discoloured.
