This listing is for a set of five small vintage plates made around 30 years ago for Tachikichi Japan. They were made using a slip mould and shaped to resemble an assortment of leaves. Each piece features a different colour glaze, and they have a textured pattern on the bottom. This set is ideal for serving sweets, and they come with their original paper storage box.
Tachikichi Inc. was founded in 1782 in Kyoto. In 1949 it was reorganized into a corporation, and in 1957 a specialty store was opened in the very exclusive Ginza district of Tokyo. Tachikichi specializes in classy porcelain and tableware, and their designs generally pertain to the different seasons in Japan. Most Tachikichi pieces are produced by Mino and Seto kilns, although their higher end products tend to be from Arita or Kyo-ware kilns.
