This listing is a set of three small Edo Kiriko sake glasses made around 20 years ago.  They feature various geometric floral patterns and the base is decorated with a six pointed star. Each cup is a different colour, this set consists of purple, blue and pink.  Kiriko glass is often gifted for weddings and anniversaries in Japan because of its high quality.

Kiriko cut glass began 180 years during the Edo period and involved the technique of cutting patterns into the surface of glass. This type of glassware was very popular in Europe during the Meiji Period because of the unique Japanese designs and patterns reminiscent of kimono silk. Edo Kiriko remains popular today because of its beautiful designs and delicate cutting technology.
