This listing is for a vintage hibachi made around 50 years ago. A hibachi is a brazier used in old homes and shops to warm sake, boil water for tea, and in some cases provide heat. The hibachi in this listing is made of earthenware and the exterior is decorated with landscape scenery and temples. The kanji on the back translates as “Hanno Town Youth League, Okawara Branch” and the stamps of the production kiln can be found on the interior. This piece is in proper working condition and may also be used as a planter or as a pot for small goldfish.

Condition
The interior suggests it was never really used much, but there are scratches, some peeling of the enamel (especially on the bottom), and scuffing on the exterior. There are no chips or cracks.
