This listing is for a wooden tengu made around 20 years ago. Tengu are a type of long nosed goblin believed to inhabit the mountains and forests of Japan.  They have supernatural powers and are recognized in both Shinto and Buddhist teachings.  The tengu in this listing has more of a comical appearance - it has a raw bark surface and sisal rope for hair, feathers for his beard, a pine cone ‘tokin’ hat, and googly eyes.  The fellow was most likely sold as a souvenir, however the little piece of paper attached to his side no longer shows where he is from.

It’s in very good condition with only minor surface wear.
