This listing is for a black bamboo nodate chasen made by Yamamoto Takizayikuya. The chasen is tulip shaped and split from one piece of bamboo into 100 small prongs. The 100 tine type is popular because more prongs result in more foam and a better frothy texture. Nodate chasen are smaller than regular size chasen and are intended for outdoor tea ceremony, we have included a photo so you can compare sizes. It comes with a plastic storage case, please note that this particular whisk is produced at Yamamoto Takizayikuya’s workshop in China.

It’s a brand new, unused item. The plastic case is sealed with clear tape which is slightly troublesome to remove, our apologies, they arrive like that when we order them.
